Volleyball Has Rough Week
After a season-opening tournament win, the Stockbridge volleyball team has hit a bit of a rough patch by going 0-5-1 in a pair of matches.
The Panthers hosted Marshall and Union City in a tri-meet August 27 and dropped both matches. They fell to Union City 21-25, 20-25 and to Marshall 18-25, 20-25.
Grace Hall led the Panthers with three kills against Union City. Madison Mazuca, Gwen Rogozinski, and Kaylie Sheperd collected five service points each, while Breanna Sayler had three digs.
Hall had a big game against Marshall with six kills, five service points, and three digs. Molly Nichols and Sayler had for service points each, Mazuca nine assists, Sheperd and Tyler Showerman two kills each.
Stockbridge then traveled to Marshall fore 5-team meet and went 0-3-1 in the round-robin matches.
The Panthers split with Eaton Rapids 25-16, 11-25 and dropped matches to Kalamazoo Christian 20-25, 15-25, Marshall 16-25, 16-25, and Sparta 15-25, 15-25.
Hall led the team with 25 kills and 20 digs. Mazuca dished out 24 assists and record 12 service points, while Nichols had 15 digs. Rogozinski had 10 service point and Nichols recorded 11.
The team travels to Lansing Christian Monday night for the GLAC opener at 6:15.
