Who cares about weather when there are eggs to hunt!

Details and photos by Andrea Stickney

Considering how early Easter fell this year, it’s not surprising that the day before Easter dawned cold and wet. But that didn’t stop the kiddos who showed up for the annual Easter Egg Hunt, sponsored by the Stockbridge Lions Club.

The kids had a ball, as usual. Each left with toys they selected, along with their candy-filled eggs. Most of the adults stayed huddled under cover of the pavilion at Veterans Park while the kids enjoyed the egg hunt.

Special thanks to the official Lions Easter bunny, Rich Mullins, who distributed many of the eggs.

And they’re off! The 2024 Easter Egg Hunt, sponsored by the Stockbridge Lions Club on Saturday, March 30, officially begins.

The Easter Bunny, dressed as Rich Mullins, scatters eggs prior to the start of the Easter Egg Hunt.

Adults grudgingly leave the protection of the pavilion long enough to accompany some of the young egg hunters.

Maybe someone will remember to order up some sunshine and dry weather for next year’s Easter Egg Hunt. But weather really doesn’t stop the kids from having fun!
