Open Air Market was on hand Friday with extended hours .
Events in Veterans Park began at 3 with registration for the Superhero Kid’s Run, and of course, an assortment of booths providing Day In the Village T-shirts, games for kids, snacks and more. The Superhero Kid’s races began at 4 p.m. Three races were held with youngest going first, ages three and under.
Then came ages four to six.
The final race was over age 6.
While the races were going on, cheerleader demonstrations and Planet X inflatables were opened. A magician followed, as did a cloggers demonstration. At 7 p.m. Father of the Year was announced. This was followed by FLYTE and then Fire Breathers performed. All these activities pushed Fireworks later than expected, but the added darkness enhanced the display.
Saturday events began on the Township Square with a 5K run. A pet parade brought smiles, and attendees jived to Frye Henderson Sound. Other entertainment throughout the day included Dee Dee the clown, Planet X Inflatables, Bosco, Letha Allen, Phil Tolliver, Mo’Easy, Sprinkler Area, and Kid’s ID. A bicycle was given away and SRSLY had games on the Square. At dusk SRSLY provides the movie “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.”
Sunday, the outdoor Community worship service for Father’s Day was moved indoors due to rain.
