Probility Physical Therapy to provide Athletic Trainers to Saline High School through 2022

SALINE, Mich. (Aug 15, 2019) – Probility Physical Therapy, a member of Saint Joseph Mercy Health System announced today that it will provide certified athletic trainers to Saline High School for a three year period, beginning Aug. 12, 2019.  In addition to Saline Area Schools, Probility Physical Therapy provides athletic trainers to six other schools located in Clinton, Chelsea, Manchester, Stockbridge and Howell.

Probility has served and supported the Saline community for nearly a decade with its Saline outpatient physical therapy clinic located at 984 E. Michigan Avenue.  This clinic has treated Saline student athletes over the years, helping them get back to their activity or sport.

“We are excited to be able to provide athletic trainers to Saline High School,” said Patrick T. Hoban, president and CEO of Probility Physical Therapy.  “Our highly skilled athletic trainers come with years of experience working directly with student athletes to help them excel in their sport and get injured players back to health.”

Jacque Schiavo and James “JP” Calder are the Probility athletic trainers that will be working with Saline High School coaches, staff, students and parents.

Schiavo holds a bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Aquinas College and a master’s degree in sports performance and conditioning from Ball State.  She has nearly a decade of athletic training experience, served as the athletic trainer for Clinton Area Schools and will serve as the lead athletic trainer for Saline High School.  Schiavo has also worked with high school and college athletes in recent years as the athletic trainer in Probility’s Sports Performance and PT Clinic, which is located in Ypsilanti.

Calder earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise and pre-athletic training from Adrian College and a master’s degree from the same college with on focus on athletic training.  Calder has five years of athletic training experience, and has worked with a full range of student athletes from football, volleyball, soccer and hockey.

Andrew Parrish, Saline High School athletic director, commented on adding Probility’s expertise to the field, court and pool.  “I am confident that Probility’s hands-on approach will serve our student athletes well,” he said.  “Because many of our students and their families have experienced great care at Probility Physical Therapy, we know this will translate well for our sports programs.”
