Obituary: Joann R. Fletcher
Joann R. Fletcher, age 76, of Stockbridge, MI, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2019. She was born in Jackson, MI on March 27, 1943, the daughter of Charles and Martha (Mayes) Flack. On November 18, 1961 she married Bill E. Fletcher, and he survives. Also surviving are two children, Sherry Fletcher of Stockbridge, and Stephen (Juanita) Fletcher of Stockbridge, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, George Villanueva of Phoenix, and three sisters-in-law: Joyce McKimmy, Delores Schroder, and Betty Perez, all of Stockbridge; also several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Flack, Jr. and sisters, Rosemarie Mosley and Margaret Villanueva.
Joann had lived in the Stockbridge area her entire life. She was a member of the Bunker Hill Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She had worked at Rockwell, Federal Screw Works, Stockbridge Manufacturing, as well as the Chelsea Methodist Home. She enjoyed working outdoors, mowing her lawn, working in her garden, and doing yard work. She especially loved her lilacs. She also enjoyed playing the piano and was an excellent seamstress. Most of all she loved her family, and she especially loved doting on her grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those wishing to make a contribution in Joann’s memory may do so to the American Cancer Society, the American Breast Cancer Foundation, the Ingham Co. Sheriff Department, or SAESA (Stockbridge Area Emergency Services Authority).
