More about the artists:
Colleen Redfield currently teaches acrylic painting at Art Quest in Chelsea and works with children in the after school program through Stockbridge Community Schools. Her art inspirations come from children and nature, particularly the beauty and gracefulness of deer. Recently she has begun exploring the subject of musicians. The saxophone player was inspired by a trip to Chelsea Sights and Sounds.
Colleen has taught art classes for over 20 years, at her own art store in the Detroit area, and more recently through Stockbridge Community Education. Each summer she runs art classes at the Stockbridge Branch of the Capital Area District Library for tweens through adults and manages the Activities in the Park each Friday at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Stockbridge.
In addition to exhibiting five times in Grand Rapids’ famous ArtPrize at various venues, Mike has had his sculptures displayed at the Dexter District Library (2012), in Royal Oak (2015-present), and as part of the 2009 Sculpture Walk in Chelsea, Michigan. Other nearby permanent installations include a sculpture in front of the Stockbridge Branch of the Capital Area District Library, Stockbridge, MI and an honor roll memorial in front of the Unadilla Township Fire Station in Gregory, MI. http://mjonessculpt.com
