Commemorating the Fourth of July-Gregory style

Photos by Judy Williams

Gregory’s 2021 4th of July events were in memory of 15-year-old Talan Tolliver.  Talan passed away at home on May 26, 2021, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He lived in Gregory his entire life and was an inspiration to all. In 2017, Talan had the honor of singing the national anthem to start the parade.

Emcee Charlie Brown, aka Gordie Kunzelman, welcomes the crowd to the 46th annual July 4th celebration in Gregory, Michigan.

A patriotic start to the event commences with Josie and Clare Beutler singing the National Anthem.

Who better to mind the home fires? Unadilla Township firefighters work up a sweat cooking chicken for hungry patrons.

After a two-year hiatus, Gregory’s 2021 July 4th celebration draws a long line of hungry folks waiting to purchase their BBQ chicken dinners.
