From the Superintendent’s Desk: Our Early Childhood Education program continues to grow and flourish!
by Karl Heidrich
For two consecutive years the enrollment of early learners has continued to increase and has been running at capacity. We currently run four early childhood classrooms.
Having all of our early childhood programs in the same building along with our K-2 educational programs is a huge success. Our all-inclusive school staff is very professional, friendly, and collaborative. They receive the latest training in best practices and are very connected to the K-2 staff and curriculum.
All of our programs follow the MTSS Model (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support) and the same Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible expectations as the K-2 program.
Our early childhood curriculum is very engaging, the classrooms are equipped with the latest technology, and the staff uses a hands-on approach to learning. Most important, our program provides a safe nurturing environment to promote social and academic growth through developmentally appropriate activities.
We are pleased to exit early learners from our early childhood program who are well prepared and ready to begin kindergarten right here at Smith Elementary.
To enroll in our early childhood education program please contact Janice Armstrong, Director of Early Childhood Education at (517) 851-7735 ext. 3207 or email at [email protected]
