Blink, and you may not see the highly motivated and energetic Finn Coffman. This sixth grader at Heritage Elementary stays active, mountain biking, running cross country and playing soccer.

This past summer Coffman placed second in a mountain bike race while in the Upper Peninsula. Most recently, he medaled in his first cross country meet. While we may not see this young man ever sit still, we may see his creative ability in his art, chosen to represent Stockbridge Schools and proudly displayed at Ingham County ISD.

Coffman lives in the rural area with his mother and father, Monique and Michael Coffman and his older brother Jonah. He says he loves to be surrounded by wildlife and spending time with family and friends, especially his cousins.

At the age of 3, Coffman’s academic career began as a Curious Cub with Stockbridge Community Schools. Field trips to Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum rank as his top experiences so far, and he looks forward to more in the future.

Teacher Mr. Rehmann describes Coffman as “a respectful, hard-working young man who will always try to help others whenever possible. He is a role model that leads through his actions in class and outside of class.” Rehmann’s statement rings true to the motto that Coffman lives by: “Treat others as you want to be treated.”

The support of his parents has always helped him do his best, Coffman says, and he loves caring for the family’s two pets, Daisy and Po. He plans to attend Michigan State University to become a veterinarian. Those animals will be lucky to receive his care.
