The Lady Panthers brought home a district championship with their 10-1 victory over Whitmore Lake on Saturday, June 2.

Stockbridge jumped out to a five nothing lead after the first two innings. Emily Breslin and Hannah Gutting each had three hits, while Taylor Carey, Hannah Smith, Paige Wooden, and Katelyn Knieper all had two hits each.

Breslin got the win as she pitched seven innings, giving up five hits, while striking out four. The ladies will now move on to the regional tournament in Clinton. They will play Napoleon.

Earlier in the day, the Stockbridge varsity girls softball team won the District 84 Semi-Finals against Ann Arbor Greenhills by a score of 10-0. The victory set a new school record for wins in a season with 23 and put the girls into the district finals. The Panthers were led by Paige Wooden who was three for three with three RBI’s. Emily Breslin and Taylor Carey each had a pair of hits as well. Breslin picked up the win as she surrendered only one hit while striking out six.
