Jef Fox named Father of the Year by Stockbridge Area Chamber of Commerce

Traditionally held on Father’s Day weekend, A Day in the Village (ADIV) festivities would not be complete without the announcement of Father of the Year.

This year’s Father of the Year is Jef Fox, proud dad of John, 11, and Eve, 7. He also is the husband of Kate Fox, who learned about the event from A Day in the Village packet she received from her children’s school.

The packet form provided by the Stockbridge Area Chamber of Commerce ADIV Committee includes the prompt, “My Dad is, by far, the best Dad in the whole wide world because…” John shared many reasons including, “He works hard to make me happy and helps me a lot.”

John added, “He knows how to do a lot of stuff I never thought could be done. He is my idle (sic) and is the one and best dad I could ever ask for.”

Eve was quick to point out, “He is kind and helps me. He’s the best dad ever!”

Along with the honor of being chosen as Father of the Year, Fox also received a gift basket filled with tools, gift cards and other specialty items generously donated by local businesses.

Surprised and appreciative, Fox said, “It’s one of the greatest accolades I’ve ever received in my entire life.”

Fox added that apparently the kids are listening, even when you think they are not.
