JV Softball Picks Up First Win of Season

The JV softball team picked up its first win of the season last week when the Panthers split a doublheader with Grass Lake.

The Panthers are a young squad with just a couple of player on the roster that have played softball before. They are improving with every game and it finally came together againt Grass Lake.

The Panthers dropped the opener 17-2.

Macy Cipta had a hit and run scored, while Brianna Stevens and Kalysta Connolly added hits and Nikole Mons an RBI.

The Panthers bounced back to take the second game 17-13 for the teams first win.

Rylee Recchy led the Panthers offense with three hits and two runs scored. Melanie Satkowiak added two hits and three runs scored, while Ari Place had two hits and scored four runs. Mons had two hits and two runs scored and Jamie Phillips a hit and run scored. Lucia Bottlikova is an exchange student from Slovakia that is playing softball for the first time. She had three hits and scored two runs for the Panthers. Connolly added two hits and Tessa Shepard one hit.

Place earned the win on the mound striking out two.
