Stockbridge Village Council honors deceased member, appoints Kim Morehouse to vacant seat

by Mary Wilson

Pat Harden died April 2, 2019, and the Stockbridge Village Council voted to purchase a memorial bench honoring him for his work on the council and park projects.

At its May 6 meeting, the Stockbridge Village Council observed a moment of silence in remembrance of council member Pat Harden. The council voted to purchase a memorial bench to be placed near the new park on the village’s south side in honor Harden and his work on the Village Council. Harden worked tirelessly to complete that park project.

Prior to the meeting, the council had asked residents interested in joining the council to submit letters to the Village Office. During the meeting Kim Morehouse was unanimously voted to fill the vacant seat. Morehouse was given the oath of office before taking a seat as council member.

Morehouse stated that he wants to help the village become financially sound with a long-term vision without sacrificing the small-town appeal or character.

Morehouse has been a life-long resident of the area, and he graduated from Stockbridge High School. He left to attend college and returned in 1985 with wife Laura. The couple has four adult children.
