Lady Panthers Clip Fowlerville

Some clutch free throw shooting helped the Stockbridge girls’ basketball team hold off Fowlerville 58-54 in a non-league contest Tuesday night.

Gwen Rogozinksi sparked a sparked the Panthers early with 11 first quarter points as the Panthers took a 15-11.

The lead grew to 30-24 at the half as the Panthers outscored the Gladiators 15-13 in the second.

Chelsea Asquith scored five third quarter points, but Fowlerville cut into the Panthers lead by outscoring them 15-12 to make it a three point game 42-39 heading to the fourth.

Madison Mazuca got hot in the fourth scoring eight points and the Panthers went eight for eight from the free throw line in the fourth, with Rogozinski going 6-6 and Kaylee Dalton 2-2 as they sealed the win.

Rogozinski finished with a team high 24 points.

Mazuca added 12 points, while Asquith and Dalton scored six each. Grace Hall and Brooklyn Rochow tallied four each and Makayla Surline two.

The Panthers finished 19-24 from the free throw line with Rogozinski going 12-12 from the charity stripe.

Stockbridge improved to 10-3 overall on the season. They host Maple Valley in the Coming Home game Friday night at 5:30 PM.
