Letter from Stockbridge School Board President Carrie Graham

To the Parents and Community of Stockbridge Community Schools:
I wanted to take the time to update everyone on our search for a new superintendent for the 2020-2021 school year. As most of you are already aware, the current superintendent, Karl Heidrich is retiring from Stockbridge Community School effective July 1, 2020. We appreciate his 21 years of service as an administrator in the district.
The school board is now in the process of working on a timeline to hire a new superintendent. We have contracted with the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) to assist us with the process of finding the next leader of Stockbridge Community Schools. The process will take about four months to complete. We will officially post the position in February. Soon after, we will share a timeline for the hiring process and dates that we will be interviewing. Within the timeline we will include opportunities for a public forum to solicit feedback from staff, parents, and community. We also plan to gather feedback through an online survey.
It is very important for the board to conduct a thorough search to give us the best possible candidates. As we create the advertisement brochure, official timeline, and dates at the end of the month we plan on sharing that information with you and posting it on our district website. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact any School Board member.
We look forward to your participation.
Carrie Graham
Board President,
Stockbridge Community Schools
