Livingston County’s Planning Department Invites Residents to Attend Their May 29th Master Plan Workshop
HOWELL, Mich. – Livingston County residents are invited to attend the 2025 Master Plan Workshop to help guide the development of the County’s new plan. The workshop will take place on May 29th from 6:30 – 8 p.m. at the Livingston County Public Safety Complex at 1911 Tooley Road in Howell. RSVPs are required by May 25th via email to mhaglund@livgov.com. This free event is open to all residents and will provide a brief overview of the Master Plan creation process, explain how residents can provide input, and give participants the opportunity to identify areas of the community that are positive or may need improvement. The May 29th workshop will be the Planning Department’s second Master Plan workshop scheduled this month. The first was held on May 1st and was quickly booked with more than 65 attendees.
There are two quick and easy ways all residents can take part in the Master Plan process. The first is the Map and Economic Survey available at https://milivcounty.gov/planning/livingston-county-2025-master-plan/surveys/. Here residents can use a map of the county to select areas they consider positive or in need of improvement, while the economic development part of the survey allows responders to rate the conditions of the county. The second opportunity is a Photo Voice Contest available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LivCoPhotoVoice. Everyone is welcome to enter the contest by uploading and describing photos of a place that makes them feel proud or frustrated. There’s even a category for “Photographer’s Choice” so residents can share photos of special places within the community. Three photos will be selected at the end of the contest and with a $100 gift card for first place and a $50 gift card each for second and third place. When selecting photos to submit, the Department asks residents to please focus on places, not people, and to have fun and be creative! All photos and descriptions submitted may be used in the final 2025 Master Plan.
