Love for Hobby Grows to Full-time Endeavor

by Bev Glynn

Drive through the quaint township of Unadilla, and you may see a few treasures sitting by the side of the road. You have reached the home of John and Denise Rokke. The Rokkes moved to Michigan a few years ago to be near their children and grand children. They had always been interested in antiques as a hobby, so decided to turn their hobby into a business.

They had been involved in buying, selling and collecting antiques for over thirty years. About ten years ago, an attorney friend asked them to do a favor for one of his clients. This led to more referrals, escalating their hobby into an expanding business they call Family Treasures Estate & Tag Sales. The enterprise now handles estate sale needs from beginning to end on the local, regional, and national level.

“We do our best to keep up with the ever-changing estate sale market,” proprietor Denise Rokke said. “We take great pride in our ability to understand and respect our clients’s emotions as they prepare to liquidate their belongs and family treasures.”
