Mike Levine Lakelands Trail Project Announces Heritage Project
The Mike Levine Lakelands Trail announced Thursday its plans for a Heritage Project. Operated by the Michigan History Center, the goal of the MLLT Heritage Project is to ignite pride, promote preservation and inspire learning. According to the team, the product will include interpretive panels, art and informational booths that tell the story of the Stockbridge Community.
Joshua Kaminski said, “The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is gathering ideas of what historical landmarks and events to highlight along the length of the trail. A meeting is being held to gather information from the community on the heritage stories that took place along the trail corridor.”
The Stockbridge Area Genealogical-Historical Society will host the meeting, on Wednesday, March 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Stockbridge Library. The public meeting is not exclusive to Stockbridge history, and open to surrounding areas.
