Napoleon Ends Panthers Season in Districts

A big third quarter run by Napoleon doomed the Stockbridge boys’ basketball team as the Pirates ended the Panthers season with a 69-58 loss last Wednesday.

The Panthers jumped out to a quick 16-8 lead after one quarter behind 10 first quarter points by Jeremy Pilch.

Ty Ayers scored seven points in the second to give the Panthers a 31-26 lead at the break, but the wheels came off in the third for Stockbridge.

The Panthers struggled in the third unable to buy a basket early as the Pirates went on a 22-8 run in the quarter to take a 48-39 lead after three.

The lead would grow to 14 in the fourth, but the Panthers would cut it to seven before Napoleon would seal the win by hitting 9 of 11 free throws in the fourth.

Pilch led the Panthers with 21 points on the night.

Brandon Nelson added 13 points, while Ty Ayers chipped in with 11. Chris Hall finished with nine points, and John Morris and Noah Robidou two each.

The Panthers finished with  14-7 overall record on the season.
