Obituary: Arlene Loraine Harding

Her Legacy… Arlene Loraine Harding, 96, passed away June 24, 2025.  She was born on April 12, 1929, in Dexter, Michigan to Herb Reese and Cless (Haines) Reese. Arlene married the love of her life, George Harding, in March of 1951. Arlene spent 10 years as an aide at Whitmore Lake convalescent home and loved interacting with the residents. She was incredibly kind and always happy and cheerful. Arlene loved to travel with her husband, they took many trips and cruises together. They took a three week motorcycle trip to Maine and a trip to Alaska in their motor home. Arlene also enjoyed traveling with her friends from the American Businesswomen Association. Arlene and George attended steam engine shows together for 40 years. Arlene adored her children and grandchildren, her family meant everything to her. Arlene was a joy to know and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Her Family… Arlene will be missed by her husband, George Harding; her children, Pat (Mike) Mitts, Sharon (Joe) Eaglen, Karen (Mike) Pesonen; siblings, Stan Reese, Curren (Diane) Palmer, Jerry (Melinda) Altenburnt, Steve (Sue) Altenburnt; grandchildren, Brian, April, Brenda, Jeff, Curtis, Pam; 14 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Herb and Cless Reese; siblings, Cless (Pete) Greenfield, Irita (Bob) Butler, Junior (Loretta) Reese; sister-in-law, Dorothy Reese; and grandchildren, Kevin, Ronald, Matt and Angela.
