    In October we will be working with Homes for Heroes to collect new and gently used socks for homeless Veterans in Michigan.

    Socks are the #1 needed item at homeless shelters.

    Three ways you can help!
    1. If you live in Livingston County, we will be distributing bags to as many homes as possible October 9-12 and then picking them up October 14 & 15.
    2. Drop your new or gently used socks off at RE/MAX Platinum  6870 Grand River Ave, Brighton, MI during the week of October 9-15
    3. Join our team to help on the ground! We will need help distributing and collecting the bags during this week. If you live in a neighborhood and are willing to take responsibility for that area, perfect.

    St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea to Offer
    Peer-to-Peer Mentoring Program for Mental Illness

    Livonia, Mich. (Aug. 8, 2017) — St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea will offer a free 12-week peer-to-peer mentoring program beginning in September.  The educational course will provide participants with a supportive, safe and confidential environment to meet with and learn from trained National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) peer mentors who also live with mental illness.

    This course will help participants:

    • Understand mental illness
    • Discover new coping strategies
    • Reduce stigma
    • Gain knowledge to help empower
    • Connect with others who share a similar experience
    • Find volunteer and advocacy opportunities

    Date: Thursdays, beginning September 14, 2017
    Time: 6 – 8 p.m.
    Location: St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea, 775 S. Main St., Conference Room
