    CHELSEA, Michigan (Dec. 9, 2019) – St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea will offer Senior Fit classes at Emanuel United Church of Christ, located at 324 W. Main Street in Manchester, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m.  Senior Fit is a FREE exercise program for people age 55 and over that encourages senior adults to exercise their way to a healthier lifestyle.  The program features standing and chair exercises that build strength and flexibility, as well as improve balance and cardiovascular fitness.

    Space is limited and registration is required. Please call 734-593-5600 to register.

    CHELSEA, Mich., (Feb 26, 2020) – The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea will host a free Family-to-Family Educational Program in Chelsea to help parents, friends, and care givers understand and support individuals with serious
    mental illness — such as major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and posttraumatic stress disorder — while maintaining their own wellbeing.

    The Family-to-Family program consists of a series of 12 weekly classes led by a team of trained NAMI volunteers who understand what it is like to have a loved one struggling with a chronic psychiatric condition.

    This course teaches the basics about serious brain disorders and treatments, helps connect families to community resources, and teaches important skills and coping techniques for the difficult journey.

    Program begins March 12
    Time: 6 – 8:30 p.m.

    The Men’s Club of St Mary’s Catholic Parish in Pinckney is proudly sponsoring its annual Fish Dinners on Friday evenings during Lent.  The dates are February 28, March 6,13,20, 27 and April 3.  The Parish is located south of M-36 at 10601 Dexter Pinckney Road in Putnam Township.  Our delicious dinner is served from 4:00 to 7:00pm and includes baked or beer battered fried fish, choice of French fries, scalloped or baked potato, beets, coleslaw, homemade macaroni & cheese, cut vegetables, jell-o, homemade rolls & dessert, assorted beverages as well as 3 cheese pizzas for our younger guests. Cost is $11 adults, $10 seniors, $5 children (under age 12) with a family (immediate only) plan available at $37.     It’s “Pie Day” (Pi) this Saturday! Celebrate the mathematical constant pi (π) and eat lots of pie. Pie Day is celebrated on March 14 or 3/14 because the digits in the date are the first three digits of π (3.14).
