Panthers Fall to Chelsea
The Stockbridge basketball team could not overcome an early deficit as the Panthers fell to Chelsea 64-48 Friday night.
The Bulldogs outscored the Panthers 15-7 in the first quarter and forced the Panthers to play catchup all evening.
Stockbridge outscored Chelsea 20-18 in the second to cut the lead to 33-27 at the half. Noah Robidou hit a pair of three pointers in the second to help spark the Panther offense.
The Panther offense struggled in the third as Chelsea pulled away with a 16-7 run to build its lead to 49-34 after three.
Chris Hall scored seven point in the fourth as the Panthers tried to rally, but it wasn’t enough as the Bulldogs held on for the win.
Robidou finished with a team high 11 points, while Hall and Ty Ayers finished with nine points each. Brandon Nelson and John Morris scored five points each, while Jeremy Pilch added four, Adam Twining and Lucas Gauss two each, and Josh Lewis one.
The Panthers return to action Tuesday when they host Eaton Rapids at 7:00.
