The Stockbridge football team held tough with a strong Jonesville team for a half, but the Comets came out strong in the second half and the Panthers wore down and fell 48-14 Friday night.
After a scoreless first quarter the Panthers struck first with a seven-yard touchdown run by Drew Philipp for a 6-0 lead.
Jonesville bounced back late in the half with a TD run and two-point conversion for an 8-6 halftime lead.
The third quarter was all Comets as they scored four touchdowns and put up 32 points in the quarter.
The Panthers highlight of the quarter came when Philipp hit Jeremy Pilch with an 87-yd scoring pass and two-point conversion to make it 40-14 after three quarters.
Things got testy in the second half as both teams received multiple unsportsmanlike penalties.
Philipp finished 8-12 passing for 191 yards and a rushing and passing TD.
Pilch caught five passes for 166 yards and a score, while Noah Robidou caught two for 25. Riley Kennedy led the team in rushing with 37 yards and was in on 10 tackles to lead the Panther defense.
Robidou was in on seven tackles, while Dom Hamlin and Kevin Killinger each had six.
The Panthers finish the regular season Thursday night at Olivet.
