Panthers to Play for Big 8 Title Friday Night

The Stockbridge boys’ basketball team can clinch its first league title since 2020 when the Big 8 leading Panthers host second-place Union City Friday night.
The Panthers hold a two-game lead over the Chargers with three games to play in league play.
Stockbridge is sitting at 15-4 overall and 10-1 in the Big 8 after having a 10-game winning streak snapped Tuesday night in a loss 61-50 loss to Ovid-Elsie.
Brock Rochow had a big night with a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Panthers.
Shannon Henderson had a double-double of 11 points and ten rebounds.
Jacob Dalton had a strong all-around game with ten points, six assists, and five steals, while Foster Pybus had six points and six rebounds.
Quincy
The Panthers won their fourth straight game with a hard-fought 76-70 win over Quincy.
Pybus and Henderson both posted double-doubles for the Panthers with Pybus scoring 20 and grabbing ten boards and Henderson adding 17 points, 11 rebounds, and seven blocks.
Dalton just missed a double-double with 16 points and nine assists as did Rochow with 14 points and eight rebounds.
Zac Rogozinski chipped in with seven points and Noah Sandecki two.
Maple Valley
Stockbridge cruised to a 78-40 win over Maple Valley.
Henderson had a monster night with 25 points, ten rebounds, and seven blocks to lead the Panthers.
Dalton had 19 points, five rebounds, and five assists, while Rochow scored 12 and grabbed eight rebounds.
Rogozinski scored nine and dished out five assists, Sandecki had five points, six assists, and six steals, Pybus four points and eight rebounds, and Xavier Zimmerman four points.
Springport
The Panthers avenged their only league loss of the season with a 59-45 win over Springport.
Rochow recorded a double-double of 13 points and ten boards, while Henderson had 16 points, nine rebounds, and seven blocks.
Sandecki had a strong game with 11 points, seven assists, and seven steals, Rogozinski collected nine points, eight rebounds, and four assists, Pybus six points and five boards, and Dalton four points, five assists, and five steals.
Clinton
Stockbridge took down Clinton 62-50 in an non-league contest.
Pybus had a big night with 22 points.
Rochow and Henderson both recorded double-doubles with Rochow scoring 14 points with 12 rebounds and six assists and Henderson 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Dalton finished with ten points and five assists, while Sandecki scored four points.
Webberville
The Panthers rolled to a 69-35 win over Webberville for their ninth straight win.
Rochow was dominant inside with a double-double of 26 points and 15 rebounds (11 offensive).
Pybus added 19 points and eight rebounds, while Henderson had 14 points and nine boards.
Dalton scored five and dished out ten assists, Rogozinski added three points, six assists, and five rebounds, and Terrence Cordero two points.
Concord
The Panthers ground out a 47-43 win over Concord for their tenth straight win.
Rochow had another huge night with 22 points and 14 rebounds.
Henderson added ten points, ten rebounds, and five blocks, while Pybus had nine points and six rebounds, and Sandecki six points.
