Around 4 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, Ingham County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a robbery at the Good Shepherd Mission Church in Stockbridge Township.

According to WXYZ-TV Detroit, 70-year-old Pastor Billy Allen was sleeping in Nehemiah House, the mission he started alongside the church he built nearly 20 years ago when he rolled over in his bed to see two men in his bedroom. The attackers, armed with a stun gun, tazed him, tied his hands and feet with duct tape, and demanded money.

They left the premises with an undisclosed amount of cash. A person, staying in the house and not a victim, freed Allen and called for help.

The pastor refused medical treatment on the scene. The subjects are described as white males. One is 5′ 5″ tall, 140 lbs. and the other over 6′ 0″ tall, 250-300 lbs. The Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with information to call Detective Buckland at 517-676-8255.

Allen told WXYZ that he was attacked in the past by men he’d help clothe and shelter. “I’m old and I’m tired,” he said. “I’m just asking God to intervene.”
