Police Blotter from Village of Stockbridge

Stockbridge Police responded to the following complaints this week:

03/12/18  12:20 pm: SPD responded to the 300 block of Cherry Street and assisted a 40 yr old Stockbridge Township resident with entry into her vehicle due to her accidentally locking the keys inside.  SPD was able to open the vehicle for her.

03/12/18 10:00 pm: SPD responded to the high school parking lot and assisted a student with opening his vehicle which had the keys locked inside.  SPD was able to open the vehicle and retrieve the student’s keys.

03/12/18 10:20 pm: SPD was asked by the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office to respond to a possible house fire in the 4000 block of N. Main Street.  SPD responded and found an outbuilding to be fully engulfed and the house was catching fire. SPD assisted responding fire personnel by shutting down traffic and standing by with the residents of the house while the fire was being extinguished.

03/14/18 8:15 am: SPD responded to the area of M-52 and Morton Road in response to a wounded deer in the roadway.  SPD arrived and determined that the deer needed to be dispatched. The deer was dispatched and removed from the roadway.

03/16/18 7:30 pm:  SPD responded to a car vs deer accident in the village cemetery.  SPD took the report and the deer left the scene prior to SPD arrival.

03/16/18 9:00 pm: SPD responded to a retail fraud complaint at a business in the 200 block of S. Clinton Street.  SPD is currently investigating this incident.

03/17/18 5:04 pm: SPD conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on S. Center Street near E. Main Street for having an expired license plate.  Upon contact with the driver, a 33 yr old male Jackson resident, and the passenger, a 23 yr old female Detroit resident, SPD discovered the presence of marijuana inside the vehicle.  Marijuana was located inside of the vehicle and seized by SPD, the driver and passenger were released, and charges for possession of marijuana are pending through the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office.
