Stockbridge Honors Night 2020
Jeff Trapp began his introduction to Senior Honors Night 2020 by saying, “Thirty days ago we hosted a Facebook Live Event that honored a tradition for Seniors called the “30 and Out Meeting.” Tonight we honor another tradition and that is our Senior Honors Night. Typically you would be dressed up, sitting in the gymnasium for a couple hours waiting to hear if your name is called for awards and scholarships. Rest assured that you can wear whatever you want during this video and this video will not be several hours long. However, our purpose of the video tonight is still the same. We want to make sure and honor your accomplishments and recognize all of the hard work you have put in.”
So began honors night under the influence of the novel coronavirus.
In addition to advising students to credit the hard work that they put in, Trapp encouraged students to remember “all of the support and love that came from your family. Do not forget about all of your teachers. Your teachers put in countless hours of time and preparation that go into one of the most complex professions there is.”
He commented that this would be the last year he could say he possibly had a little part of their success, as he had the chance to be one of their teachers, and he emphasized that the school and community were proud of them. “I hope you have felt this over the last 30 days of your high school career. Your family is proud of you! We are all proud of you!” he said.
Trapp revealed names that will be put on plaques in the school, award winners of scholarship money that will help pay tuition and costs, and honorees in various areas. In addition, he reminded all that graduation has been postponed to Saturday, Aug. 8th at 3:00 pm.
“Congratulations and thank you all for being part of our Senior Honors Night of 2020. Let’s get to our Awards,” Trapp said and announced the following:
