Stockbridge Students’ Films win Awards at Thunder Bay International Film Festival

 

Stockbridge Sophomore’s Kaitlin Miller and Molly Nichols short film “Joining Hands 2018” placed third and their short film “#Exploration is: The Ezra Project” placed fourth out of 48 entries at this past weekends’ 4th Annual Student Film Competition at the Thunder Bay International Film Festival.

“Joining Hands 2018” is a short film about the Stockbridge InvenTeam’s recent trip to American Samoa.  You can view the film on Youtube at https://youtu.be/AwNTEftTUKg.

“#Exploration is: The Ezra Project” is a short film about creating an adaptive fishing pole for a local boy.  It can be seen on Youtube at:  https://youtu.be/pbJ3ug_LwDQ

Awards were sponsored by the Friends of Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary and Michigan Sea Grant for five of the twelve selected and screened films.  Students submitted films 5 minutes or less in length about the theme:  “Exploration Is” All the winning films will be posted on the Friends of Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary Facebook page:

Festival awards winners were:

5th Place:  Elizabeth Black and Lilly Hamann from Alpena High School

4th Place: Molly Nichols, Kaitlin Miller from Stockbridge High School

3rd Place: The Stockbridge High School “Inventeam”

2nd Place: Noah Fetty, Matthew Guest, and Tanner Hatch from Alpena High School

1st Place:  Akia Rutherford from Rogers City High School
