Student Spotlight: 6th Grader, Ellie Creps

by Cindy Lance

The February Student of the Month—6th grader Ellie Creps—is a recent recipient of the Girl Scout Bronze Award and the recipient of the NWEA award. With her favorite subject being science, her goal is to graduate college and become a pediatrician.

Ellie is the daughter of Mark and Sonja Creps. She has attended Stockbridge Community Schools since kindergarten. She loves the small community, including how nice the teachers are, and she credits them with taking part in the most memorable aspects of her academic career so far. When thinking about who has influenced her, Ellie mentions those who have had the biggest impact: her friends Lizzy Stewart and Tayla Trapp, and also Deanna Kruger.

The saying that Ellie tries to keep in mind is, “The most important things in life aren’t things.” She adds, “It reminds me that I don’t need things to make me happy.”

Horseback riding is her favorite hobby.

“Ellie is an incredibly caring young lady who is willing to help anyone whenever it is needed,” teacher Craig Rehmann said. “She strives to do her very best in school and sets her goals high. In addition, she was voted by her peers to be a representative of the Student Leadership Team at Heritage.”
