Bond update: A vision for our schools’ future
Dear Stockbridge Families,
Stockbridge Community Schools is moving forward with a bond proposal designed to enhance the educational environment for all students across our schools. The proposed bond aims to address critical facility needs, technology upgrades, athletic improvements, and long-term infrastructure repairs. All these projects will ensure our schools remain safe, modern, and well-equipped to meet today’s learning needs.

What’s included in the bond?
The proposed bond will be implemented in three series to allow for responsible budgeting and timely improvements. The projects cover a wide range of essential needs.
1.)Facility improvements.
– Boiler replacements at Heritage Elementary.
– Roof replacements at all district buildings.
– Parking lot replacements across all school sites.
– Renovations at Smith Elementary, including bathrooms, cubbies,
kitchen and cafeteria upgrades, and repainting.
– Restroom and plumbing renovations across multiple buildings
2.)Technology upgrades.
– Annual student device replacements over 10 years (four-year rotation).
– Upgrades to technology infrastructure and classroom technology.
3.)Transportation.
– Purchase of 10 new school buses, phased-in over multiple years.
4.) Athletic and recreational enhancements.
– Track replacement and relocation of discus and shot put.
– New T-ball fields, press boxes, concessions, dugouts, and fencing upgrades.
– Walking path connecting soccer and baseball/softball fields.
– Locker room renovations at the Jr/Sr High School.
– Athletic storage cages.
5.) Career & Technical Education (CTE) and Ag Science.
– A new 40-by-60 pole barn for Ag Science, CTE programs, and district storage.
Why this bond matters
This bond proposal is not just about fixing what’s broken. It’s about investing in the future of our students, supporting our educators, and maintaining safe, functional, and inspiring spaces to learn and grow. Every item in this bond was identified through community feedback, staff input, and facility assessments.
The bond is structured to maximize long-term value while minimizing financial impact, with contingency funds built in to allow flexibility for construction needs.
