The Stockbridge Town Hall Players performed “Harmony Romances” over the weekend of Nov. 30 through Dec. 2 at the Stockbridge Township Hall. The play, a sequel to “Ladies of Harmony,” performed April 2013, was directed by Sara Lewis and Amy Schlaff.
In this sequel, Harmony Church women who had planned a funeral in the first play were now planning a wedding. Leah intends to marry Howard, whom she had contact solely via email and telephone. Both plays, written by Ron Hill, were produced through special arrangement with Big Dog/Norman Maine Publishing.
In addition, THP bade farewell to long-time member and supporter, Barbara A. Krusinski. In a flier, the players wrote to Krusinski, “You have instilled a love of acting to the next generation and you are loved beyond measure and will be missed more than you will ever realize. Thank you.”
In taking her final curtain call, Krusinski said, “My heart and energy have been with the THP for 18 years. My dream was to be on stage.”
Many in the audience had play-acted with “Grandma Barb” in a THP production throughout the years. SCN photographer James Clark-Swalla first joined the troup in 2005 as a freshman in high school. “As with most in the THP community,” he said, “it was my pleasure to have shared the stage with her.”
THP presold tickets at a discounted rate of $8 at the Stockbridge Pharmacy, or the charge was $10 at the door.
Auditions for a future Youth Troupe Productionwill be held Dec. 17 and 19. Show times March 15, 16, and 17, 2019. Details to be announced.
