Update:  The store owner said that the cash box was found somewhere around Roepke Court with a bit of loose change in it. A Michigan State Police trooper confirmed that, but had no additional information at this time.

At approximately 2:15 a.m. on Monday, April 13, the Unadilla Store was broken into. According to store owner, Mike Harbert, the thieves broke in through the front door and attempted to break into the store’s ATM. Their ATM robbery attempt was unsuccessful, but they did get away with some cash from the cash drawer.

The store’s security camera footage indicates that two people were involved. The Unadilla Township Police and the Michigan State Police, Brighton Post, were on the scene this morning to investigate. The February 2020 break-in, during which vandals unsuccessfully attempted to break into the store’s ATM, remains unsolved.

Coincidentally, Duke’s Outpost, a convenience store in nearby Pleasant Lake, was broken into early Saturday morning, April 11. The would-be thieves at that location attempted to break into that store’s ATM but were unsuccessful. Nothing else was taken from the store, and according to Duke on Monday morning, there has been no headway made in determining who the vandals were.
