2021 Homecoming Dance raising funds through crowdsourcing

Because of the pandemic restrictions since 2020, traditional fundraisers for Stockbridge High School’s Homecoming celebration weren’t able to provide the money needed for this year’s event. That includes the semiformal Homecoming Dance. Current restrictions necessitate holding an event like this outdoors, but that requires a large tent and other supplies, which substantially increases the costs.

Budget strains are threatening the viability of the 2021 Homecoming Dance. The Student Council, as well as teachers and administrators, have been working hard and planning creatively to try and make the dance a reality.

In an effort to help out, Leisa Gipe, a concerned Stockbridge parent, set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds for this dance. The community has been quick to respond with donations—large and small. For those interested, more information is available in the student newspaper, Uncaged, or at GoFundMe.com (search for “Stockbridge” and select “Help Stockbridge Students Get A Homecoming“).
