Deadly March storm serves as reminder to be prepared

by Mary Jo David

Michigan has experienced some treacherous  spring weather. Barely ten days into this season, on March 30, an EF1 tornado touched down in Williamston. Nearby, in Stockbridge, where a tornado was rumored to have touched down, a 56-year-old man was injured when a large tree fell on his house in the 4300 block of North Main St. Sadly, the man succumbed to his injuries during transport to a local hospital.

Also resulting from the same storm, many homes in the Stockbridge area were without power for as many as four and five days.
