Lady Panthers Open GLAC Play with Win over Lansing Christian

The girls’ basketball team improved to 3-2 overall after a 44-22 win over Lansing Christian December 16.

The Pilgrims jumped out to a quick 10-5 lead after one, but the Panthers came to life in a big way in the second.

Taylor Asquith, Maddie Dalton, and Gracee Robidou all hit triples in the second to spark the Panthers, but it was the defense that dominated, holding the Pilgrims scoreless in the quarter to help the Panthers go on a 15-0 run for a 20-10 lead at the half.

Stockbridge outscored Lansing Christian 15-9 in the third behind four points each from Alaina Kellenberger and Taylor Lockhart to give the Panthers a 35-19 lead after three.

The Panthers would cruise in the fourth with a 9-3 run to pull away for the 22-point win.

Asquith and Kellenberger scored 11 points each to lead Stockbridge. They both also grabbed 12 rebounds each to finish with double-doubles on the night.

Robidou finished with 10 points, Dalton six, and Lockhart five, and grabbed 12 rebounds.
