CADL Stockbridge Library – Coming Events

We are proud to announce the following upcoming programs scheduled by the CADL library system  Stockbridge Library.  They feature a variety of activities for children and adults some including refreshments.  Come to some or to all. Some events require advance registration so check out the list below.

FOR ALL AGES

Family Game Night
Take a break with family and friends on selected Fridays. Play Sushi Go Party!,Codenames, Spot it Junior!, Animal upon Animal, Apples to Apples and more. We’ll have snacks, too.

The Green Book: Driving Through the Jim Crow Era with the Gilmore Car Museum Hear the true story behind the Green Book, a guide that helped black travelers during the height of segregation find safe and welcoming accommodations, resorts, restaurants and even gas stations. Learn about discrimination of all kinds and the Civil Rights Movement in America.

Live Animals in the Library! –With Potter Park Zoo. Come to learn about and see a variety of live animals at the library! Hosted by Potter Park Zoo

Market Music Series
The library and other community partners invite you to enjoy live music at the Stockbridge Open Air Market on Fridays throughout the month, weather permitting. Fridays, May 3-31 • 5:30-7 p.m.

This series was designed especially for 3-6 year olds, but younger patrons are welcome with close adult supervision.

Minecraft Game Night (Ages 8-15)
Get your game on with fellow Minecrafters in an after-hours event open to beginner, intermediate and advanced players. Refreshments provided. No registration required. Fridays, March 8 and May 10 • 7–8:30 p.m.

Kids Read to Oliver (Ages 6 & up)
Kids will enjoy reading aloud to a specially trained golden retriever. Wednesdays, March 13, April 10, May 8 • 6–6:30 p.m.

Escape from the Stockbridge Library! (Ages 13 & up)
Can you escape from the library? Gather your friends and see if you can! Each date will have a different themed room.
Fridays, April 5 and May 3 • 6:45-7 p.m. and 7:45 – 8:30 p.m.

Japanese-American Experience: the internment camps of World War II. Help us mark Asian-Pacific Heritage Month with this presentation of how Japanese-Americansendeavored to make their lives as “normal” as possible while imprisoned. Presented by Carlos Villegas-Castaneda. Mr. Villegas-Castaneda is an instructor of Spanish language, literature and culture at Adrian College. Wednesday, May 8 • 4 – 5 p.m.
