Michigan Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial dedicated

On the hot, picture perfect day of Saturday, July 27, the Michigan Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial was dedicated in the shadow of the Capitol building in downtown Lansing.

The Officers’ Memorial honors 588 fallen officers from across the state of Michigan, and two Ingham County officers are listed among the names engraved in stone.

Paul Cole was killed in the line of duty in 1996, and Grant W. Whitaker killed in the line of duty December 7, 2014. Whitaker’s name is engraved on Panel 4, West, and Cole’s is engraved on Panel 4, East.

This memorial may be visited any time, day or night.
