Obituary: John (Jack) Albert Izard

Izard, John (Jack) Albert died peacefully January 4, 2022 of natural causes at the house that Jack built in Gregory, Michigan. He was 79 years old.

He was born in Chicago, IL to Albert and Alice Izard.  His parents and only sibling, Lynne Hudson preceded him in death.

Jack loved being outdoors hunting and fishing. He was a die-hard Chicago CUBS and BEARS fan. Jack came from a long line of artists and Jack was able to express his artistic talent with wood.  He was a building contractor and has left his artistic legacy in many homes and businesses across the USA.

Jack had a beautiful smile, the most gorgeous blue eyes and the most positive attitude about life; he is known as Jolly Jack to many relatives.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Renee; four brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, two nieces, six nephews.  He has relatives and friends he thought of as family spread out across the USA.

He had been supported by family and many friends during his last few months and he asked that everyone know how thankful he was.

Jack chose to be cremated and preferred not to have a service at this time due to the pandemic. He said if people asked about donations he would request that they plant a hardwood tree for the next generations of wood workers.

In loving memory of Jack, my lover, my best friend. He made me laugh, he kissed my forehead, he said I’m sorry, he made an effort, he held my hand, he worked hard, and he attempted to understand me–Mr. Perfect.  The pandemic gave us a very special time to reflect on our lives together; reminiscing about our adventures, (we moved twelve times) and the family/and many friends we made across the US. Jack was Jolly Jack till the very end stating he had lived a beautiful life!
