    St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea to sponsor 30th annual Heart & Sole Run, Walk and Kids Fun Run

    CHELSEA, Mich. (March 7, 2019) – St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea will sponsor the 30th annual Heart & Sole Run, Walk and Kids Fun Run on Saturday, May 4 at Chelsea High School. All proceeds from this year’s race will go towards helping expand and enhance the hospital’s tree-lined scenic walking paths with additional routes, lighting and signage. These investments will help sustain the hospital campus as a safe haven for fitness and wellness for future patients and their families.

    The Heart & Sole race will offer several options for this year’s participants including a 2 mile run/walk and a 5K run/walk. Both are walker friendly and the routes are completely paved. There will also be a 10k run on a new paved route, and a family-friendly kids fun run. All races begin and finish in the Chelsea High School parking lot, located just off of Trinkle Rd. in Chelsea.

    Start Times:

    · 8:15 a.m. – Kids Fun Run

    · 8:30 a.m. – 10k and 5k

    · 9:00 a.m. – 2 Mile

    Online registration for the race is currently open at www.chelseaheartandsole.org. For most races, the registration fee for adults (14 years+) is $27 and $15 for youths (13 years and under). Any child participating in the Kids Fun Run (10 and under) is only $12. A late fee will be accessed for adult registrations received after 11 p.m. on May 1.

(April 2, 2019) – This spring, St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea will host a “Minding Your Health Series,” which includes three educational programs aimed at improving mental health in the community. These events are free and open to the public. All classes will be held inside the Chelsea Wellness Center, located at 14800 E. Old US Hwy. 12 in Chelsea.
