    CHELSEA, Michigan (Dec. 9, 2019) – St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea will offer Senior Fit classes at Emanuel United Church of Christ, located at 324 W. Main Street in Manchester, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m.  Senior Fit is a FREE exercise program for people age 55 and over that encourages senior adults to exercise their way to a healthier lifestyle.  The program features standing and chair exercises that build strength and flexibility, as well as improve balance and cardiovascular fitness.

    Space is limited and registration is required. Please call 734-593-5600 to register.

    Free informational session scheduled for February 10

    CHELSEA, Michigan (Dec. 9, 2019) – St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea, located at 775 S. Main Street in Chelsea, will host a free Diabetes Prevention Program inside the hospital’s Atrium Conference Room on Mondays beginning February 17 from 2 to 3 p.m.  For those interested in learning more, a free informational session will be held on Feb. 10 from 2 to 3 p.m. in the same location.  The program will consist of 16 weekly sessions followed by monthly maintenance sessions.  The Diabetes Prevention Program is intended for anyone at risk of type 2 diabetes.  It will help educate participants on strategies to become more active, control food intake, lose weight, manage stress, think positively and more.

     

    This program is free, but registration is required.  For more information or to register, please call 734-593-5276.

    On the 2nd Monday of the month (2/10, 3/9, 4/13, 5/11) starting at 5:00 pm, our Fresh Food Initiative will be delivering fresh produce to low income families in Stockbridge School District. NO ID required, for families or individuals who declare themselves in need of food.

    Pick up site: Jeruel Baptist Church, 11440 Plum Orchard Road (M-106), Munith.
