St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea to sponsor 30th annual Heart & Sole Run, Walk and Kids Fun Run

CHELSEA, Mich. (March 7, 2019) – St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea will sponsor the 30th annual Heart & Sole Run, Walk and Kids Fun Run on Saturday, May 4 at Chelsea High School. All proceeds from this year’s race will go towards helping expand and enhance the hospital’s tree-lined scenic walking paths with additional routes, lighting and signage. These investments will help sustain the hospital campus as a safe haven for fitness and wellness for future patients and their families.

The Heart & Sole race will offer several options for this year’s participants including a 2 mile run/walk and a 5K run/walk. Both are walker friendly and the routes are completely paved. There will also be a 10k run on a new paved route, and a family-friendly kids fun run. All races begin and finish in the Chelsea High School parking lot, located just off of Trinkle Rd. in Chelsea.

    Start Times:

    · 8:15 a.m. – Kids Fun Run

    · 8:30 a.m. – 10k and 5k

    · 9:00 a.m. – 2 Mile

Online registration for the race is currently open at www.chelseaheartandsole.org. For most races, the registration fee for adults (14 years+) is $27 and $15 for youths (13 years and under). Any child participating in the Kids Fun Run (10 and under) is only $12. A late fee will be accessed for adult registrations received after 11 p.m. on May 1.
