Located at 11500 Plum Orchard Road, SMW Manufacturing was incorporated into Munith in 2004. The company operates five facilities in multiple states with a workforce of more than 240 full-time and part-time employees.

SMW manufactures high-precision components, mainly from low carbon steel, but also from stainless and aluminum. Its core market portfolio includes the following:

– Sensors, brake pistons, transmission and safety critical components for the automotive industry.

– Weld studs, mining and construction tools for the mining and construction industries.

– Hydraulic ferrules and stems for industrial uses.

– Wheel bolts, bearing spacers and spindle nuts for heavy trucks.

SMW’s mission and vision is to use its innovative forming and precision machining technologies, along with the problem-solving culture of its people, to provide its customers with cost-effective solutions to establish a competitive advantage.

Jamie Grassmyer, a member of the company’s sales and marketing department, praised Munith as a business site.

“Munith is rich in technical and manufacturing expertise specific to the industry we operate within, and the supplier network is ideal in supporting the day-to-day operations,” Grassmyer said. “The community is highly supportive with a local talented workforce to draw from.” He went on to emphasize, “The success of SMW can be directly attributed to the strength of its Munith location. It strives to maintain a strong relationship within the community, and the local support has been paramount to our success.”

SMW recently opened its fifth location in Oxford, Miss.

When asked about the manufacturer’s future plans, Grassmyer said, “the plan moving forward is to continue the growth of each individual facility, improving efficiencies and furthering our effort in creating a productive, safe and sustainable work environment.”
