Track Teams Sweep Maple Valley

The Stockbridge boys’ and girls’ track and field teams hosted Vermontville-Maple Valley in the Panthers home opener and thee teams came away with a sweep of the Lions.

The boys won 96-35 and the girls 83-44 as both improved to 2-1 in the GLAC.

Maison and Micah Beauregard were in on three wins each to lead the boy’s team. Maison won the 110 and 300 hurdles and was part of the winning 4×400 relay team, along with Micah, Isaac Lance, and Luke Suojanen. Micah won the 800 and 1600 races.

Suojanen also won the 400, while Kael Youngblood won the 3200.

Tylin Ayers swept the shot put and discus events. Brad Niec, Zachary Sanford, Ben Young, and Ryan Bartholomew teamed to win the 4×100, while Jonah Coffman, Andy Schlaff, Jonah Husky-Wright, and Brock Jones won the 4×800.

Rylee Tolson won three events to lead the girl team. She won the 400 and 800 races and teamed with Audrey Austin, Brooklyn Rochow, and Gwen Rogozinski to win the 4×400.

Carissa Heinzman swept the shot and discus, while Isabelle Bliss won the 100 and teamed with Hailey Fraser, McKenzie Hatfield, and Elysia Medina to win the 4×100. Bliss also teamed with Fraser, Grace Hall, and Medina to win the 4×200.

Sidney Gipe won the 3200 and was part of the winning 4×800 along with Joy Youngblood, Rochow, and Rachel Owen. Youngblood also won the long jump.
