From the Superintendent’s Desk: Brian Friddle ready to begin work in Stockbridge

Hello Stockbridge Panthers,

I look forward to joining the Stockbridge community on July 1 as superintendent.  I have served in education for 26 years; 20 years as an administrator and the last 14 years as a superintendent in Ingham County.  My wife Carmen and I have been married for 31 years and we have three children, two boys and a girl.  We enjoy traveling, athletics and the arts.  Carmen, Alexis (our daughter) and I are looking forward to participating in the community this summer and into the new school year.

Through many visits to the school district, I learned a lot about Stockbridge.  A reoccurring theme heard from staff was that the people make this community a very special place to live and work.  I witnessed the excitement for learning and smiles on faces, confirming that this is a good place to learn and grow.  We are excited about joining a community with this kind of a reputation.

I value building relationships to promote student achievement and provide opportunities for students as they transition in the school setting and beyond.  Stockbridge has done a great job of providing an engaging curriculum for students.  I look forward to continuing the support for these initiatives and exploring new opportunities for students in the district.

This year has been one of the most challenging years in education for many people.  I think it will be important for us to focus on starting off the new year re-establishing great habits.  I anticipate building relationships with the staff and community so that we can help students succeed as they pursue their dreams.  I am confident students will return with a fresh start in the fall and experience a year filled with great opportunities for both them and their families.

I am excited to be joining the Stockbridge team and meeting you.  If you see me in the district, please come and say hello and give me the opportunity to introduce myself.

Go Panthers!
